Tourists visiting Machu Picchu in July will be invited to tour attractions Alternate
Tourists coming to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu in July, month of the centenary of his scientific discovery will be invited to visit the 16 attractive alternative offered by the Tourism Services Committee inputs Integrated Cultural Tourism (Cosituc), including parks, sites sites and museums.
Olivera Orlando Enriquez, manager of the institution, said it was an initiative suggested that the Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Dircetur), considering that July is high season.
"We suggested to the dissemination and propaganda, and that could compete. We have beautiful attractions in three circuits as Sacsayhuaman, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero, which are the most visited, and Moray, " he said.
He said that while Machu Picchu is the main place to visit in the area, has great Inca and pre-Inca ruins in the provinces of Cusco, Urubamba and Quispicanchi.
He said he hopes that this year the number of visitors is higher than in 2009 and 2010, so actually considers it important to improve the health, safety and sanitation in 16 attractive alternative.
"Tourists come in many delegations and have an added value: witness the altitude sickness (altitude sickness), chip or falls that may occur, and are safe because they are exceptional private guards, " he said.
He recalled that in high season there is an increased presence of tourists from the United States and Europe, while the proportion of Latin Americans and nationals, but did not rule out future promotions to attract the latter group.
